    Default Wood Woman From Maldon

Hi Ladies, I’m a 3rd generation Chippie. Grand-dad was an enthusiastic amateur. Dad was a carpenter & joiner turned cabinet-maker in later life. I learnt from him. Until recently it was more a hobby than an all-consuming passion. But I moved into a new house here in Maldon, Nth Central Victoria, and needed a kitchen bench. There was scrap wood on the property - Oregon posts, Cedar door-frame, Pine planks. By the time I’d finished people were lining up with orders! )

Here’s some pix: my guest bedroom with my interpretation of 60s Funkadelic polished masonite and reclaimed Yellow pine; kitchen cabinets with Cypress frames; stand-to work-station that can also be a chopping trolley - solid maple top, cypress-fronted draw; Yellow pine - P. strobus - being reclaimed after I found it in a backyard covered with chook poo; my workshop foreman - hard guy; and the bench that started it all. Love to you all, Josie

"If a man is after money, he's money mad; if he keeps it, he's a capitalist; if he spends it, he's a playboy; if he doesn't get it, he's a never-do-well; if he doesn't try to get it, he lacks ambition. If he gets it without working for it; he's a parasite; and if he accumulates it after a life time of hard work, people call him a fool who never got anything out of life."
