    I was going to suggest Timbecon, but while they do stock various lengths of M6 inserts, they don't seem to stock anything but M6.

    I did a quick search here. Amazon seems to carry threaded metric inserts. Because I am absolutely clueless about metric thread standards, I wouldn't know an M6 hole from an M8 hole, you'll have to look.

    The one good thing about Amazon is that you may be able to determine the manufacturer or brand name. Then on their web site a 'Where can I buy' query may point you toward a local supplier.
