9/16" brad point drill bit
Does anyone know of a local source for 9/16" brad point bits?
.
I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you just read is not what I meant.

Carba-tec have 9/16" Forstner bits which might do the job for you.

Hmm... I saw those, but I'd prefer a brad point. Thanks anyway WB!

I'm pretty sure M10 and Bunnies only stock up to 1/2", but I will double check, thanks.

these guys have one listed in a 3 pc set. They are on the slightly loooong side though(25"). Might be a lead.
Tampico - Tools, Machinery & Equipment
this one > WDR052 - Wood drills - 3p x 25" long - 1/2" to 5/8" - brad point
Cheers

Alternatively regrind a normal 9/16 twist drill to brad point.
If interested I have an old WW mag article on the procedure, which I could scan for you if needed, assuming I can find it in my tip of a shed

Thanks Alastair, that was going to be my last resort. I have several twist bits already ground with extra long points especially for chairmaking - just not a 9/16" bit. However, the link above, posted by mic-d, proved fruitful, even though they are currently out of the three-piece set mentioned above. I bought several useful sizes for less than I could find a 9/16" Sutton bit for in M10 and Bunny's. So all's good.
Thanks for all the assistance and suggestions men!.
