    Default What Adhesive???????????

    Morning, Afternoon, Evening all.

i am in the process of getting ready to laminate some spotted gum into rocker formations.
so my ????? is what adhesive should i use??

just so you know, i laminated my formers with titebond 2, theadhesion was fine but it left a noticable yellowy/white glue line. ( this is ok on the formers )

is there a suitable adhesive out there that will dry clear??

    brains trust over to you

I would use techniglue or another appropriate (eg boatbuilding) epoxy

    Hi Shippers,

If your wood isn't oily, I'd use epoxy for sure.

I'd go with techniglue epoxy, tinted with either powdered pigment or artists water paint - the stuff that comes in tubes.

    G'day.
I have been glue laminating Spotted Gum into wide panels.
    I use Titebond Ultimate III.
The brown glueline matches in with Spotted Gum just great.
    Hooroo.

I agree, techniglue or boatcote epoxy. I suggest you give the spotty a light sand with 240grit immediately prior to glue-up, there is something in the surface that has been exposed to air for a while that can play up with glueing. It's not just that spotty is oily.

    Cheers
