What I really like about this is that your "shop" is right next to your kitchen !! Good one !!

what timber did you use, and how was it stained / finished?

Can you also post a picture of the table support?
    regards from Alberta, Canada

    Table top is solid birch
Legs are laminated plywood with birch veneer.
    Base is solid birch
Skirt is laminated with a veneer.
The support is just a piece of spare mdf that I screwed downward into the legs and then screwed to the undeŕside of the table.
I finished with 2 coats of "kona" stain. (I put a thick second coat on and when 95% was dry I extremely lightly pulled a rag over top to create a "antiqued look".
Finished with a water based gloss. 4 coats so far. I will sand it down when it's hard to remove any imperfections and polish

    Hi Froggy
I hope the screws between the MDF and the birch top are in elongated holes to allow for expansion / contraction of the top.

I actually did take that into consideration Lol. I did completely forget about the expansion until you guys mentioned it. Then it all came back to me..... it been 10 yrs since I have actually built cabinetry.
Thanks for all of your help!!
