    It looks like the BS was setup well from the factory and performed well

    I can't be sure from the photographs but it looks like the guide bearings aren't the sealed type. Can that be true?

    All six bearings are sealed, and all settings are made via allen keys.

    However I will sometime try to adapt some of the keys to act like a screwdrive on longer shafts.

    Anyone done this, I could imagine welding on that allen key steel is not practical???

    Or would a connector of some sought be the easy route.

    I have two sets of Allen keys, one metric, one imperial, with T handles. Shafts are about 100mm long.

    I'm sure they're not great quality but they are invaluable for that sort of work. I picked them up at Victoria Markets. There are about a dozen keys in each set.

    Just looked on eBay. These are they.
