    Default Bandsaws Blades

I have just ordered an 18" Laguna bandsaw. I am not sure which blades to buy. I make pens, bowls, salt and pepper grinders and bit and pieces. Is the Resaw King tct blade only for resawing? Thanks.

I find a 1/2" 3TPI blade is a good general purpose blade. They are available in bi-metal or normal. Unless you're re-sawing, you probably won't need a tct blade.

This is the only blade we ever use at work, cuts everything from 3mm ply to 200mm American Oak. We don't resaw, so I can't comment on how good it is for that.

We get them case hardened (normal blade, hardened to the back of the gullet) with a raker set; one tooth left, one right and one with no set.

When you have decided what blades will suit your needs. Give Henry Bros a call 02 96275486 I have found them very helpful and know their stuff. I use everything for a 1/4, 1/2 and 5/8 blades and also a 25mm TCT blade for re-sawing all supplied by them. By the way their TCT blades are a lot cheaper that the Resaw King and from what I can see does the same job. I have only ever had one problem with a blade that was damaged in postage and replaced it no questions asked.

Thanks Brett, I have used Henry Bros before for my little bandsaw, I'll give one of theirs a go. I assume the new bandsaw will be a lot more useful.
