    Default bed rails or hanger

    Hi All,

it has been a while but I was overseas on holidays
unfortunately I am back (always too short) and ready for my next project
I am building a japanese-style bed and I was wondering where I could find the bed rails/hangers (I don't know the real word but in the usa they use hanger) to fix the side rails to the head and foot of the bed.
The bed can be taken apart so the side and middle rails which will support the slates and mattress need to be detachable.
I live in Mlebourne (Doncaster) but I don't mind ordering online or going around Melbourne
    Thanks for your help
    Eric

I got mine from Timbecon - quite happy with them. You could also try Haefele (??spelling??) in Dandenong.

Use the search facility on this board to search for the term "bed brackets", you'll find plenty of info.

    Cheers,

    Justin.

I hate to say this but.. pay a visit to your nearest Bunnies store, and you will find them for under $10.00 a set(4 off)

OR any good hardware store will/should have them.

I try and do new things twice.. the first time to see if I can do it.. the second time to see if I like it

    Thanks for that
Last time I searched at Bunnings I culd not find them but I guess I was in the wrong section
I'll have a look at bunnies but the heavy duty ones on timbecon seems better although more expensive
    Thanks anyway

Get the heavy duty ones from Timbecon. No movement in them, unlike the cheap ones.

I've built a couple of beds for my sone & daughter a queen and double size in Vic Ash. When I built the first one I looked all over for bed brackets - came down to a choice of two readily available the cheapies in bunnings or a product called Maxilock (which you can see used in many commercial products). Bought the Maxilock in Bunnings (there are two sizes) I think for around $24 per pack of 4. Very easy to fit, strong and stable. For the second bed I spotted them in a Allboards (Jersey Road Bayswater) for around $7 - 8 for a pack of 4 - same as the ones in Bunings, but without the packaging, that's all.

    Hope that helps.
