    Question Anyone made this Bench

    My young young fella will be wanting a bench in the next couple of Months.
    He has little interest in wood working,
    and I would rather not push him to hard at all.......ATM

    Has anyone constructed one of these from Mr Ply?

    Ivan,

    I haven't made it, but it looks really easy - as easy as assembling flat pack furniture.

    If the design seems OK, I reckon go for it. The only thing I noticed about it is that it doesn't seem to have a place to put a wood vice, if that is a concern.

    The plan looks easy to put together so there should be no hastle. The main observation I have made is that the top is a bit thin for any sort of heavy work. I would consider adding another sheet on top of it to beef it up. I would also use metal brackets on the inside corners to strenthen it against racking if you are doing things like plaining and sawing on top.
