Saw blade arbour size change??
Hi everyone, just wondering if someone could tell me if I can get a arbor/bore size made LARGER for a circular saw blade?
For instance I have a compound mitre saw with a 30mm bore and have a brand new very nice 60 tooth blade with only a 10mm bore, just wondering if theres any way to have it adapted?
Thanks.

I'd reckon an engineering workshop should be able to machine the centre of the blade out to a different arbor size. Check the yellow pages for someone local.
The beatings will continue until morale improves.

Saw Shop or Saw doctor
The place that can sharpen you blade will usually be able to resize the arbor.
It should cost $15-$25.

Yep - Peacock saws just did a few for me. Find a saw doctor. Interestingly it was cheaper to get a large hole made smaller with a bushing than boring out a small hole.
PeterThe other day I described to my daughter how to find something in the garage by saying "It's right near my big saw". A few minutes later she came back to ask: "Do you mean the black one, the green one, or the blue one?".

Interesting. A saw bush will cost you $3.00 in NZ, Robertson and Sinclair will rebore, say a 16mm arbor to 25.4 for $20.00.
Don't know why it would have been more to bush than rebore when you have to put a blade on a lathe etc and pay an engineer to rebore?Last edited by plino; 21st May 2008 at 07:27 PM. Reason: spelling- 'again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
