    Default Book bolts/sex bolts/chicago bolts - Stainless

Whichever name they go by, does anyone know where I can buy stainless steel versions of these domestically?

The only place I'm aware of is Zoro Tools, not domestic to you though. https://www.zoro.com/value-brand-arc...ts/g/00146187/

Economy Bolts in Victoria has them, but I am not sure if they have an affiliated outlet in Sydney or not.

Maybe Allfasterners? Their catalogue is about 40mm thick, so I can't imagine them not having anything

They are nickel. Their finish is fantastic.

Its really hard to buy a good furniture bolt that is good quality that doesnt cost a fortune.

There are others I've bought over the last two years as part of product development.... here are some links (that are variants) that might be useful:

    LOCAL:

    Button Head Socket Screw Stainless (316) M6 (1.00mm) x 20mm - Classic Fasteners
Button Head Socket Screw Gr304 Stainless Steel Metric

    CHINA:
Dongguan Taifeng is excellent: https://tfscrew.en.alibaba.com/produ...ting_bolt.html and https://tfscrew.en.alibaba.com/produ...bed_bolts.html and https://www.alibaba.com/product-deta...580428084.html and https://tfscrew.en.alibaba.com/produ...ctor_bolt.html

    Dongguan Zhongu: https://www.alibaba.com/product-deta...105777659.html

Saifeng does knife supplies as well: https://sytoolschina.aliexpress.com/...501885554.html

    https://www.aliexpress.com/item/10pc...802981084.html

Dongguan Taifeng is good to deal with. The site says you need to buy 20,000 at a time, but if you email them they wil sell you 100 or 200 as a sample.

without being smart -- you are aware that there are different grades of stainless ? Many of which are not really suitable for a marine environment.

If your application is "structural" it will pay to check that any book bolt you buy is something more than "cosmetic".

Once I asked our administrator if we had any "Chicago Screws".
FYI - Chicago was the name of the company that actually made the "sex bolts" and here in the US Chicago Screw was a common name for these bolts.

She, emphasis SHE, was all excited that there was a new way to have sex. There was real disappointment when I explained what a Chicago Screw really was.

Oh yes! It was considered but in the long run I decided that I couldn't afford it.
