Box Joint Sled For Circular Saw
I am not sure if this has been done before however I think this is a great low coast alternative to make box joints on a circular saw without a dado cutter and a good project as well. This sled cost me about $100 in total including all the parts cut by water jet. I do Cad design so that part cost me nothing. I am happy to help source the metal parts or supply you the .dxf + a pdf files of what the finished product looks like for free if you want to get it cut yourself. By turning the "rack" over you can cut 5mm and 10mm box joints. You can cut up to about 275mm high box joints however this is only limited by the length of the rack.
One thing you need to know is that the drop lever needs to be machined to the width of you saw blade + about 0.20mm give or take. You also need a chisel tooth blade to get a square bottom on the cutout. Depends how fussy you are.

Hi Trev
A very interesting design ... the concept to move the carrier across the table, rather than move the wood itself, has been done before but in a much more complex manner .. I like the simplicity of the design.
You had my curiosity aroused by the title .. circular saw ... did you mean table saw?
Thanks for sharing
Rob
