G'day Smurfn8r,
If you are looking for slotted brass screws for woodwork, you would be best to go for square head/positive drive screws. You can put better torque on the screw with no chance of stripping the head out. Not that you need much torque to drive the screw home, but you can do it much finer.

I can recommend them highly, as can many others.

Robertson screw in Brass .... OMG, how Canadian! Slotted screws are traditional for Woodworking Best source is Fastenal, www.Fastenal.com but the closest to Aussie is in Singapore. But they do have internet sales.

Hi smurfn8r,
I have purchased slotted brass screws in small sizes that are quite acceptable from Boxmakers Brassware in Sydney. I always buy screws at the Melbourne Wood Show. See their web site at http://www.boxmakersbrassware.com.au.
I also purchase brass screws from engineering supply places that sell nuts, bolts and fasteners etc. These are more often available in phillips head and not always in slotted.

Try this U.S.A. Company. By the way.If your after Nicholson #49 and #50 Cabinet Maker Files they have a great discount going.Have a look under Hand Tools. Use 1st Class International Airmail as its the cheapest airmail to Australia. The aussie exchange rate makes this a really good deal. I just put an order in.
