Just got shipping confirmation for mine.
Agreed the status updates are pretty average. Surprising since they have both a blog and forum to easily keep people informed.

    Regardless, I can't wait!

I'll go one better than that - my KM-1 Kerfmaker arrived in the post this morning.

Sent by USPS (cheapest way), and I'm in country NSW....

As you would expect from Bridge City Toolworks, it is exquisitely made. Should appeal to the kind of bloke that buys Festool gear !

I'll give it a try on the tablesaw.....just as soon as I've completed my lawn mowing duties

    Default Glad to hear

Glad to hear that these little gadgets actually exist and someone has gotten theirs. I have been told the same as Mat, Brett C and ColW on three seperate occasions and still nothing........

Each time I have been told that they expect to finalise all orders by the end of the day and each time I have had to send another email seeking information as there has been no update and nothing debited to my card to suggest that anything has happened with my order

I have lost patience with that sort of stock standard response from Bridge City and have posted a quite lengthy negative post on the blog, will see what sort of a response that brings.

I perhaps had an unrealistic expectation of better customer service than that I have experienced thus far. I don't know that I will be quite so eager to purchase one of their products again in the future.

Sorry to read of all the anxious moments you fellows have had - I've just stumbled across this thread and think the product a great little jigger, but will now wait for any reports of usage before committing the $$$.
I do hope at least one user does do a report.

    Default Progress

Finally it would appear that my order has been shipped. Got a email suggesting that I had placed an order for the kerfmaker, it wasn't till I read the fine print that I saw that it wan't actually a second order, but actually the second half of the payment and shipping costs invoice.

Had a quick chance to try mine yesterday.....cutting slots in drawer sides to take a 6mm ply bottom.

Set the KM-1 up for the kerf of my saw, placed it against the stop on my crosscut fence per the instructions provided.....make one cut, flip the KM-1 over, make the second cut, then take out material between the cuts.

Result? An absolutely perfect fit in no time at all. This gadget really does work as advertised . Kicking myself thinking of all the drawer and box bottoms I've fitted by trial and error while waiting for the KM-1 to arrive....grrrrr

Only thing I have to tweak is the stop on my crosscut fence, which needs to be made of slightly thinner material to let the KM-1 register properly.

    I think its a keeper.....

    Default Spoke too soon

I got an email this morning that included a UPS tracking number and I now know that mine is en route. I am sure that it will have been worth the wait and all the emails back and forth.

The Bridge City Tools website has changed recently - it now looks as though the Kerf Maker is up for orders again, with delivery in December. I've written asking for confirmation, but I'm optimistic. (I didn't see the announcement first time around.)

Default Still no new tool arrival

Sadly, I am still waiting for my Kerfmaker to arrive, despite an email telling me it had been shipped via UPS last Friday. I arrived home today to find a seperate purchase from the States, shipped on Saturday in the States, arrived via UPS today. I would have thought my Bridge City order would arrive first, hope it hasn't gone missing somewhere.

Coincidentally i ordered one last week from the website against the Dec delivery date. I got an order confirmation, but no firm delivery date.

I'd imagine they are probably heading into making a second batch now, could be some earlier orders might not make the first batch.

I guess in the end they are not charging an arm and a leg for what is a lovely bit of kit, and it's effectively made to order. So we can't expect the sort of service you would get from a big seller of stock items...

    Default Arrived

Mine arrived today safe and well. Well pleased with the machining, tolerances and overall finish. I have yet to use it in anger but i have little doubt that its performance will surpass its appearance and obvious quality. Worth the money I spent I am certain. Just disappointing that the wait was so long with no explanation offered without prompting and a string of justifications supplied when all that was wanted was a simple update on shipping.
