Was it my imagination or were attendance numbers down on last year?

I went on Friday and I seemed to find it a lot easier to get around than I did last year. For a start, I did not see so many school kids there as last year.

The real test for me on crowd numbers is how many times I get hit by backpacks when someone turns around. It only happened once this year.

'Twas not as easy to get around though as at the ill fated other woodworking show last September.

At that show, which I went to twice because I had won tickets, I bought a couple of items from the woodturner Bernie Wilson who displays his wares in the outside area at the back. Likewise, I bought a few bowls from him early on Friday morning and he had remembered me from the September show and indeed could tell me what I had bought at that show because I had been his only customer at the whole show. I had only spent about $20 with him at that show.

Anyway, when I picked up my bag of bowls from him at around 2.30pm, he said that he hoped that I had not jinxed him as until that time on Friday, I had been his only customer again.

I wonder if other sellers shared similar experiences.

I am intending to take my backpack to the Sydney Show and on the Friday. If you come to the Sydney Show I make sure we hit you with a backpack.

    Arrow

Not as big a crowd as i have experienced n the past and not as many exhibitors.

Good and bad points to both those observations.

Best part was catching up with forumites.

You must be an old guy. It is the old guys who wear those things at woodworking shows.

School kids wear them on buses and nearly decapitate you when they turn around to talk to their mates and old blokes wear them in crowds at woodworking shows and turn around for no apparent reason at all!

    Man! That's decrepit!

You don't happen to wear shoes and socks when you go fishing in a tinnie, do you?

It was a good show, spent a bit passed the money around, got a free cupa from the forum guys.
Not as many exhibitors, but the prices were good, plenty of discounts. Thanks for the discount voucher to get in. We had 20 from the club.

The show visitors were up on last year and the show was full.

We had a great time as always.

Yes there was plenty of back packs going around and you could see some of the guys getting a bit leg weary towards the end of the day from walking around and the weight they had in them.

Yeah. Those brochures and catalogs can get heavy after a while.

I take a suitcase on wheels & a back pack.
I park the suitcase at parcel pick up & regularly empty my backpack into it.
    Cliff.
If you find a post of mine that is missing a pic that you'd like to see, let me know & I'll see if I can find a copy.
