Where to buy sanding disc for table saw? Or circular saw?
I don't have a vertical bench disc sander like this
L1335 - DS300 Bench Disc Sander | Hare & Forbes Machineryhouse (well, I really don't need all the angle adjustments like this one. Just a 90deg vertical)
and I might keep my Triton 2000 workbench (I'm thinking of selling it & buying a DeWalt DWE7941) and just changing the circular saw blade with a sanding disc. Is that a thing? I've looked online & can't find any "blade" which is a sanding disc.
Or I sell the Triton & buy some cheap table saw from Gumtree or Marketplace and replace the blade in that with a sanding disc.
Is that a thing?

Triton used to make one. A bit hard to find now.
Or there is this one which looks good but will be a bit expensive once you add on freight from the US

Looks like you can still get the Triton ones. Don't know about in Aus though

A mate of mine made one from an old 14" circular saw blade by putting it in a lathe and turning it to size. Not exactly an easy job but easy enough for someone with a large MW lathe.

Yes! That's exactly what I mean. I think I recall seeing them in Bunnings several years ago.
With a 16mm arbor it should fit a wide range of saws. Now the challenge is finding it to buy! I've done a quick google and can't see any shop selling it aside from your link to a UK site. I'll keep looking. You'd think that something like this would be a fairly common item?

I had one for my Wadkin PK it was 18” dia and thought it would be handy as with the tilt on the saw I could dial in the 2 or 3 degrees of taper for patterns.
It was a waste of time, the saw was way too fast even for jelly would burn it unless I turned it off and let it slow down.
It might even have been one of those permanent discs with rocks glued onto the steel.

Not that hard to make from a sheet of aluminium on a wood lathe with a decent swing either. I have the original Triton sanding disk and have made others to use on my wood lathes.
If you only wish to do small stuff a wood lathe is a good option using a table in the banjo - Vermec make a great table with tool post.Mobyturns

Yeah, I was thinking that the saw speed might be too fast & just end up scorching the material.
Never mind...I just saw these at Bunnings. For $55 it'll do for my purpose. Might ask the kids to buy me one for birthday or Xmas!
