    Default Carbatec's new catalogue

    Hi all,
Hope this is in the right place.
I was at Carbatec yesterday and picked up the '07 catalogue. There is no mention of Lie Nielson planes in it, though the saws are still listed. Also there is no mention of any Festool products. .
As they still have stocks of both manufacturers goods, it may be possible to pick up a bargain. Who knows, but there are some beautiful planes still sitting there, including a low angle jointer.
Also, there are some pretty complete (as in all the trimmings) Kreg dowelling systems on sale if this is your thang.
Carbatec are now importing Leigh direct, so all things Leigh should be available.

    Regards,

    Rob

I think it's being replaced by GMC.

    Actually guys,

It's Ozito. And the best part......they pay you to take them and you use real dominos, the kind with the dots on them.

But seriously, what Brisbane says is law. Given that MIK are looking for an agent in Melb. and that Lie Nielson are trading direct, I guess there's no point in continuing with the planes. They are keeping the high end English jobbies, so maybe Lee Valley is there mid range of choice?
As far as Festool go, I suspect that the required sales to keep the agency and other demands made by ToolTechnic have taken their toll.

The loss of Lie-Nielsen, Two Cherries and Festool, bodes not well in my books, as a beginner woodworker, I never heard of LV, LN, Gordon, and many others until I was given an old Carba-tec catalogue by a friend.

If it was not for Carba-tec stocking these tools, I would have never known, seen and handled these fine tools. I would forever would have been left with Bunnings.

I feel that such a reduction of range maybe indicative of a progressive deterioration in what Carba-tec stocks. Giving me little reason to continue spending my money with them.

Plus now if I wish to get a LN tool I must pay $9 more for every tool I order on top of the price I would have paid from Carba-tec.
