Why shouldn't the challenger set the rules? If it were something open to debate then the challenge would never happen. Maybe thats the military in me though? It would be a pretty big turned box though
It's only a mistake if you don't learn from it.

Now, considering my closest Bunnies is 200 km away, that would be quite an expensive piece of timber considering the cost of fuel at the moment.
Nearest hardware store (M10) only sells construction timber and almost all boards are finger jointed.
Lots of fun making something out of that. NOT.

A challenge should be democratic so anyone is welcometo provide input.

I've got to get on with making a new bench, probably the Roubo bench from Schwarz's book and that can't be made with that little bit of timber so will have to sit this one out.
Cheers

Michael,
I'm about to start my bench too, as I have been since I bought the vices 2 years ago Maybe we can start a Bench Building thread or challenge to keep us motivated?

I need to build myself a new workbench too, but not until I build that cutlery cabinet for a guy at work, so a WIP thread would be fun!

I like the idea of, "Here is a piece of wood, make something out of it". Simple and allows some freedom for a "challenge". After all that is what it is all about is it not? Happy to contribute to any cost. I think Frank and Earnest's challenge was in the right spirit of things. Keep it simple. My thoughts on the subject.
