Good onya Woodwould. That timber virus in the blood doesn't leave you alone does it.
Will be great to see some of your work and more on the details on how it was done.

Great news, will be good to see your progress. Dont overdo it though and spoil it for yourself. One project a year is better than none

Good to hear you're giving it another go. Looking forward to more updates.
Nice drawing of the bench BTW. What app did you use to produce it?
Cheers,

Thanks to everyone for the support; it reinforces my resolve.
I regularly use SolidWorks and AutoCAD (and a few others), but for this bench I used AutoCAD and rendered it in Rhino. I know I'm by far the exception, but I prefer using AutoCAD for solids as it offers me more accuracy and control in preparing manuals and illustrating etc..
I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you just read is not what I meant.

Haven't tried SolidWorks, but I have used AutoCAD on a number of projects
Almost like working with the final material Like the bench btw! I still need to get around to one
Great to hear (thanks for the pointer Aussie) about your re-inspiration to get back into making sawdust. May catch you at the show. Not sure where I'll be this year, working out the details, but I'll be around somewhere making sawdust!"Clear, Ease Springs"

I'm more used to designing metal objects in CAD, but I have done a few items of furniture for people as a sort of 'proof of concept'.
If it's of any interest to anyone, I will make the plans for this bench available once I've got my own up and working.
I can't make it to the show this year because my Esteemed Conveyor has prior engagements that weekend (working behind the scenes at a country show). Unless someone from the Bayside/Peninsula region has room for me and my electric chariot..

I remember when my father retired he would spend endless hours in the shed, making model boats, painting etc.
My parents then moved into a small unit that didn't have a shed. Dad seemed to mope around and lost that "spark". At the time we thought it was just because he was getting old and tired and couldn't be bothered, it didn't click until my sister bought an investment property that Mum and Dad took up residence in. This property had a large garden and a Shed.
The transformation in Dad was unbelievable. He was back in the shed making stuff and out in the garden growing stuff, it was like he was reborn.
Once you are back in your shed making sawdust again WW you will have a new lease on lifeTry to look unimportant, they may be low on ammo.

Woodwould,
It is great to hear you are going to be making things again. I have been amazed at some of the things you have shown in your posts. Please let's have more.

Thanks, but I don't think anyone should hold their breath for what, if anything, I might produce. If it works out, I'll be a hobyist and will probably fiddle around with little boxes and perhaps some very simplistic furniture. Shaker furniture is more appealing than ever now!
