Check out my BIG pile of stool
I have been developing this item for a while now and think that I just about have the process down pat. They are a bit tricky to do, hinges in included angles add a challenge. These are the most recent batch. All made with Silky Oak. Finished Saturday for market on Sunday. Cutting it fine again. Hope you like them. Comment invited.
Cheers
Bevan

What an awesome concept... great work and hope they sell well for you
It's only a mistake if you don't learn from it.

Very nice. How much are you selling them for?

I like the design a lot.
My only "fear" would be the inconsiderates who try and put their feet up on something - I realise, not a problem for you when sold to someone else.
I hope they really sell well as you have done a nice job.
Regards,
Bob

Great work E.G., I love 'em. How about a hole or cutout somewhere, could act as a handle and allow hanging up? Just a thought.
The time we enjoy wasting is not wasted time.

Thanks for the comments to everyone. It's not my design. But I do like the concept. This is the 4th batch of these I have done over the last few years. They are quite tricky to do. I have the process down a little less than three hours a unit at a batch size of about 12.
Out of the 13 I ended up with I put a 40mm hole in the top so that it can be hung from a peg. Under the kitchen bench or in a cupboard. I am developing a stand that might hold six that I can sell as an add on.
Now here is the killer! Given the time it takes to make and the material inputs, about $30.00 -$40.00 in timber and about $12.00 to $14.00 in hinges and finish, what would you pay????
I think they need to be selling for about $165.00 to make it worthwhile in the long run. Maybe there is a little more in it but I am not sure that the market can bare it.
What do you guys think???
The markets went ok. Not great but ok. The weather wasn't the best, cloudy and Qld cold, ie: not cold. Lots of interest, just not a lot of sales.
Cheers
