Default Child Safe Paints for Wooden Toys

    Hey All,

I'm looking for suggestions on some paints to be used for an old wooden toy which is being restored for my 12 month old nephew. The original toy was quite bright and looked it was painted using acrylics, I'd like to stick to the original theme but more importantly I'm struggling to find good advice on safe paints/primers to use. I'd love it if i could just buy something from Bunning's but realistically I know this probably isn't going to work out.

Any advice anyone can offer would be appreciated ^_^

Do a search for child safe paint in the search box top right hand of screen. There have been lots of posts on this topic.

This is will give you a starting point.

You do not say where you are located but if you have a Paint Spot store nearby, I would talk to them as well. I have always found my nearest stores most helpful

Here's a forum search on the subject for you
    https://www.woodworkforums.com/search...rchid=25360412

I've attached a few files too...

Also I've used "Raw Virgin Coconut Oil" on a child's teething toy...

    I hope that's some help,
Please post a new thread in toymaking of your finished handiwork, thank you.
    Cheers, crowie

Mirotone has a water based paint for children's toy
I think ICA and Sayerlack also has a range for this application.
