It's the crappy little Ozito which I got because the small diameter; the rail that comes with it is very short and flimsy, meant for cutting floorboards only.

Yes I have made and used a flat board type straight edge .... yeh worked pretty well.

    BUT

    A long time ago I baught a 6 meter length of 50 x 25mm aluminium box section ..... this I cut down into a 2.5m and 1.5m and a 2m lengths ....... these have been endlessly usefull.

On the saw bench if you are not confident of getting a straight edge off the standard fence, you can lay the 2.5 meter length against the fence and hello Uncle Bob.

    cheers
Any thing with sharp teeth eats meat.
    Most powertools have sharp teeth.
    People are made of meat.
Abrasives can be just as dangerous as a blade.....and 10 times more painfull.
