How I clean my saw blades
Just want to quickly share with you how I clean my saw blades. I do this routinely and do it before the gum builds up too much.
Step 1 - use a scraper blade to remove the gum from the blade tips.
Step 2 - unplug the tablesaw, secure the saw blade in place.
Step 3 - use steel wool and dip it in some mineral turpentine
Step 4 - hold the steel wool tightly against the blade tips with one hand, and turn the saw blade backward with the other hand. Do it for 4-5 rotations and it is done.
This is a 16-tooth rip saw. The whole process only takes a few minutes, and I do it as often as possible.
For 60-tooth cross cut blades. Because gum does not build up as quickly, so I normally do step 2 - 4. Also, I never do rip cuts with a crosscut blade or cross cut with a rip blade.
For router bits, I do same steps.
For bandsaw blades, I do step 2 - 4.
I hope you find this useful.

Wongo, for my bandsaw blades, I find that when I apply Blade Lube, before commencing cutting, pitch and gum build up is lessened.

That's similar to a product called BladeCote formely DriCote https://www.bostik.com/newzealand/bo...ostikBladecote. Its a waxy spray
Unfortunately its unavailable in Australia. I posted about this in another thread and the general consensus is it doesn't work but I'm not sure how many of those opinions are from people who haven't tried it. The Woodwhisperer on youtube, a respected presenter, uses it as well as many others. Amazon opinions are also favorable.
I'm interested to hear from people who use these dry lubricants as part of their saw blade cleaning routine.

I just put my blades in a pot of diesel for 20 minutes. It's easy to wipe them off after that.
