cleaning sap off timber
hi
i picked up some dressed timber today and it has some sap leakage which has run onto some other timber stack against it.
how do i get it off? turps?? hand plane??
any help would be appreciated.

What sort of Sap - Pine resin?
I'd go with a hand scraper, lots of control, easily wiped clean (a plane will clog). Then possibly a wipe down with turps or spirit.Dragonfly
No-one suspects the dragonfly!

and yes its pine resin. douglas fir. i'll scrap and then give it a rub with some turps.

Hit it with a heat gun first, especially with pockets of resin it'll soften enough to drip out. Then clean it with turps/wax remover.
