Clever adjustable shooting board
This post from Xanthorrheas made me start searching for shooting boards. Didn't realise that people used them for accurate mitre joints, I don't know much about hand tools. When making picture frames and other tight joints I always used my triton and made a final trimming cut to size, far less than a millimetre wide. Keen to have a go at learning how to sharpen the plane properly and use a shooting board.
Thought this was a clever one, I liked the micro-adjust mechanism.

Had some doubts about the way the chap in figure 326 on this page is using his particular jig, wont he ruin the profile by ripping out fibres on the unsupported edge ? Or alternately is that less likely if you have the sharpest possible plane ?

I will say that I find this interesting and can not see myself making one with a micro adjustment.

I made something similar to fit on my disk sander. It is faxed as close as possible to 45°. I use the right side for the vertical and the left side for the horizontal. While my 45° may not be a six sigma 45° angle, by using each side of the fence I do get a perfect 90° joint.
