coffee table drawers
Howdy all,
i'm designing a coffee table made mostly out of european beech that I want to put two drawers into that will be able to be opened from either side ( to hide the TV remote controls etc). Each drawer will be about 350mm wide, 100mm high and 480mm deep. I would prefer not to use metal drawer slides, but being a complete novice, I'm not sure whether wood sliding on wood will work very well or whether I should use harder timber for the surfaces that will be in contact etc. Can anyone point me to a project showing some similar drawers, or point me to a website that may help or offer any advice.
thanks

a bit more reseach has led me to Bill Hyltons chapter on Drawer Building Basics from the Taunton press. It looks like some hardwood drawer runners are the go, so I'll get back to sketchup and see if I can add them in a way that makes sense.

A coffee table is on the list next to make. Would love to see your solution to the design.

Nope, not my video, he did a nice job though. I thought the Greene and Greene coffee table had that sort of drawer so just goggled it
