    Default Confusing vacuum bag

Ive had my vacuum bag for a little while now and have had some small successes.

Pulled it it out the other day to do a press but had developed leaks. So trimmed it back and resealed the sides.

Gave Ve it a go but still leaking. Bugger me if I can find where though. So I thought best way to find a leak in a bag, blow it up. So I fired up th compressor and blew up one giant pillow. Didn't leak🤔

Tried vacuum again, loses vacuum in seconds.

    Im stumped🤷♂️

    Any guesses why.

    Cheers

Are you sure that it is the bag leaking and not the plumbing or the non return valve.

This was my thought too but the valve seems to be working fine and is no plumbing.

By plumbing I meant the hose and fittings going from the bag to the non return valve.

    Shane,

Have you tried putting the bag in a bath of water, turning the vacuum on for a few second then examining the bag to see where the water is entering?

The only fitting is the one like John Samuel has in this link.

Checked it and it works fine.

Just put it under vacuum with newspaper in it and soaked it with water to see if any getting in. Was a tiny wet spot in one corner but they may have come from me filling it with water to see if I could find any leaks. Anyway laid down a bead of vinyl glue along the edge and have clamped it up and will test again tomorrow. If leaks it goes in the bin or if someone wants it let me know.

    cheers
    Shane
