    It's a 10inch ledacraft with helical head.

I'm not sure yet. Still deciding what to do.

    1. Build a stand to get your combo machine to a comfortable height.
    2. Hire an engine lifter from kennards for the lift.
    3. Be happy that you have not traded down to a bench top screamer.

    Regards
    Keith

In that case anything less than a DeWalt 735 with a Byrd upgrade will be a real disappointment. Be sitting down when you work out the cost.

That may be the best way to go.

It may end up costing me more than what I've already got. Thanks for the advice.

I have the Hafco unit and it along with my router table are fixed to a 1000mm high table, no bending.

Default Thanks for all your suggestions

Well I finally made a decision to get a benchtop thicknesser. I went with the Sherwood Deluxe one from Timbecon and made a stand for it. For anyone reading this post still, here are a few pics. I though about running it lengthwise but then thought it would be better to have a bit of table-top either side to rest the timber as I'm passing various pieces through. All up, the stand cost about $40 in timber, $20 in Formply and about $35 in casters.

Thanks for all your suggestions / ideas / experiences. Much appreciated. Back to enjoying my woodworking.

How did you go @johnstda? I am considering the same for similar reasons. Would you recommend the machine? TIA.
