Interesting, but at about $1,000 Australian, with shipping on top of that, think it’s hard to go past a Wixey digital saw fence readout at $300.

Cool idea but yeah I think the price will make it hard to get off the ground. And honestly I treat all Kickstarters as dreamware until I actually see someone with a finished product.

It is not a new invention just a adaption, professional dimension saws such as Altendorf have had this feature for years

This is a fantastic idea.

I'm actually huge fan of Incra (I've everything) but also feel this is a great idea.

If it was under the tree at Christmas I would not knock it back but as others have said it's a bit on the expensive side.

A good thing. I think I’d like it to be able to do the calibration thing with the blade guard on.

If you were doing many rip cuts all the time, then it would be good (of course).

However, there is no way to attach featherboards or anything else to the fence - it desperately needs a T-slot in the face and/or top of the fence to fit hold-downs (esp for a $grand)

I wonder if the metal face of the fence is so that it can touch the blade to get a zero reference, otherwise it would have to be reset when you use a thicker kerf blade. If that is the case then it would be interesting to know if it would work with a Sawstop tablesaw.

The cartridge will only fire if the blade is still turning (above a set speed), even after switching off. Our Mens’ shed has a light, on an overhead board, that remains on until the saw deactivates, as they had a couple of fires with people touching the blade as it was only just turning (ever so slowly) after switch off.

You can disable the Sawstop firing mechanism if it is likely to fire while cutting or working on the saw.

I'm not sure this guy has put much thought into intellectual property either. There's already this kind of product available, eg TigerFence. The little guy against the big guys in linear positioning systems won't stand a chance given the patents that TigerStop LLC hold. And patent law being what it is, they have to defend them.
