Cutting Boards
Hi All, Am considering making some end grain cutting boards using some CL, does any have any comments please regarding the suitability of CL. Cheers Brian.

Strong smell is associated with camphor Laurel, may impart a flavour as well, some one who has used it for a cutting board my have better info

I made one, and it has not moved and the obvious smell when first cut dissipates very quickly.
I would go for it. If it turns turtle on you, you can always repurpose it for something else. With the scraps I had, I turned them into small blocks for drawers to discourage moths, and other insects etc.

I see heaps (and I mean HEAPS) of cheese boards and the like made out of camphor - actually I even have one.
Apart from the workshop smelling great the smell won't come through on a finished board - but these are all long grain boards so can't comment on the movement once it's endgrain"All the gear and no idea"
