never thought this day would come
Due to space limitation, I have sold my SCM wide belt sander, never thought this day would come...
but I needed the space for my spindle moulder, with the sander in the shop I cant use the tenoner at 45 deg and the spindle moulder is tightly squeezed at one corner, I find myself use the spindle moulder more often than the sander.
some photos to show the space with sander, space reclaimed after sander removed and some basic t&g board made with the spindle moulder.

Anyhow a new sander is ordered, a SCM SD30, it will be 18 months wait, I can plan a better position for it...SCM L'Invincibile si X, SCM L'Invincibile S7, SCM TI 145EP, SCM Sandya Win 630, Masterwood OMB1V, Meber 600, Delta RJ42, Nederman S750, Chicago Pneumatics CPRS10500, Ceccato CDX12

I always enjoy a peek inside your workshop Albert. Big stuff coming and going .
As I read and looked through your pictures and I saw that sander going off on the truck my thought was "What! Your getting rid of that "
It looks like a nice thing to have and is much better than I have for a sander. But then I see you have another one coming so I get it. It makes sense now.
One thing I noticed is your garage door. Do you like that thing ? Looks like it takes up over head space but must be easy to use. Would you prefer anything different for a door there? Barn Doors ?

The garage door is what came with the house when I purchased it 15 years ago. dont mind taking up head space as everything needs to clear the garage door jamb anyway. will need $$ if I want to change
I am still thinking about the sander. Ideally I want something smaller say the likes of 630mm wide so it takes up less space. I have bought a second hand 630 wide sander recently as an interim measure before the new WBS arrives.
the shop is a mess, I will give it a good clean when the new panel saw arrives in October-November. the new saw should free up more space - hence sander decision pending.SCM L'Invincibile si X, SCM L'Invincibile S7, SCM TI 145EP, SCM Sandya Win 630, Masterwood OMB1V, Meber 600, Delta RJ42, Nederman S750, Chicago Pneumatics CPRS10500, Ceccato CDX12

Hey Albert, I’ve always wondered. What do your neighbours think about what goes on at your place? Don’t you get complaints about noise?
And what does the local council say - don’t they have rules about carrying out a business in a residential area?Apologies for unnoticed autocomplete errors.

Well I have a full time job not related to woodworking. I only turn on the machines between 5-630pm. each time I turn on the machines it only take 3-5 minutes to make a cut/plan/sand. I don’t do any machinery work on Sunday. my compressor is silenced piston compressor, it does not make a lot of noise, about 70db standing 1m from it. In fact most 3 phase machines makes very low pitch noise. A lot quieter than a router+ Vacuum
by the way I am a bit fortunate my left and right neighbour are owned by the same family who only come and stay maybe 1-2 weeks a year.SCM L'Invincibile si X, SCM L'Invincibile S7, SCM TI 145EP, SCM Sandya Win 630, Masterwood OMB1V, Meber 600, Delta RJ42, Nederman S750, Chicago Pneumatics CPRS10500, Ceccato CDX12

My sander has four lifting/tie down eyes on the top corners. I fitted an electric winch to the roof ridge and winch the sander up into the roof space when not required.
