Delivery from Mapleman
Hi All,
Quick classic story here that still has me in stitches!
My latest purchase of Camphor Laurel arrived from Mapleman via Australia Post this morning, some 19 Kg of it. And bloody good stuff it is too.
The guy who has the parcel delivery run for Australia Post in my area (Elizabeth, SA) is a Jamaican guy, six foot odd in the old money, and loves a chat when he drops stuff off.
When he handed over the goodies, he says: "Hey Man, hope you are feeling better?" I respond with "I'm not sick" - he then shoots back "then why do you buy so much Vicks Vapour Rub, and man, one of the jars is broken. My van smells of the stuff"
I tried to explain that it was some timber that I purchased that smells like vicks, but he was not satisfied until we both headed off to the workshop and open the parcel.
Back in the van, and off he goes. Been walking around all day today just giggling to myself.
Felt the need to share.
Cheers,
Greg.

Reminds me of a time back in the 70s when Gough spread money around like confetti and all sorts
of jobs were created in the newer fields of social engineering. Needless to say there were somepretty
original characters among many of the newly employed in these new jobs.
One fellow smoked cigarettes laced with clove oil and this was in the days when workers were free to
puff away indoors.Needless to say this character was reported and the police turned up at work and
frogmarched him to the police station. Took much explaining and many phone calls to sort that one out!!!
