    Default Dining Table Plans/ideas wanted.

    G'day.

I’m looking for plans & ideas.

The minister for domestic affairs & finance has placed a requisition for, not one, not two but three dining tables for the ‘retirement village’ (our weekender & several sheds) in the mountains.
She wants two ‘6 seaters’ & an ‘8 seater’. The idea is that the ‘6 seaters’ will go on the verandahs & the ‘8 seater’ will go inside. Then, when the “mob” are overeating at our place, the tables will all fit together along the 2 seat sides to make one big ‘12 seater’ or if the “whole mob” turn up, we can just spread them around restaurant style to seat 20.

I’ve done a search & found the thread where zymurgy was showing off his dining table project & followed the link to www.plansnow.com & I can most likely adapt that plan to the job at hand by leaving out the extensions.

Does anyone else have any plans/ideas to contribute to this ramble?
    Cliff.

mind you, flash or quick and easy and cheap does sound a bit like Grunt.

Anyway, what's it got to do with me????

It's pretty hard to recommend something without knowing what style you're after. Care to narrow it down a bit?

Yeap, a dog with a flat face, he'll be along shortly.....

Nah, it's an 'in joke'... check the date on the original post....
that is; unless you are trying to take over Grunt's challenge.

It is a retorical post & has been answered elsewhere.
I dredged it up to "P" Craig off 'cos he hates people dredging up old posts & to challenge Grunt 'cos he said he didn't answer it 'cos he didn't want to 'embarrass' me.

When they are finished, currently they are just a pile of timber.

Cliff, have I missed something here?

Her Indoors commands some new furniture, thereby tacitly blessing shed time and possibly the purchase of new tools. THREE years later no product but you seem to have isolated the timber.

I know things are a bit slow in the Deep North, but this gives a new depth to procrastination.

Hi Cliff, seeing as you've still got a pile of timber awaiting design and construction perhaps this link may help you if you have'nt already seen it.

And like you I reckon you always have to have something on the backburner..gives the missus something to hope for.!

    Cheers

Yeap, a shed with no power.

The current shed has a car & all my turning stuff & the lawn mower, wheel borrow, gardening gear, etc in it so there is no room to make furniture.

The new shed is now 2 years old & still doens't have power.
It is getting closer, the power cable & conduit are in the ground.
The shed wiring is about half done, just a few more runs to finish & then the walls & ceiling can be sheeted & then the fitting off begins.
Along with this are the renovations to the house that also require some of more limited time.
The new office complete. (except for power)
The new bathroom is almost complete. (except for power & a vanity unit)

This question was first asked while things were still in the planning stage & nobody answered it.
I have since found some plans & the timber.

I dredged it up the old post to "P" Craig off 'cos he hates people dredging up old posts & to challenge Grunt 'cos he said he didn't answer it the first time 'cos he didn't want to 'embarrass' me.

Ta, I hadn't seen that one. I'm going to keep a copy.

I have a couple of books on Design now & those figures seem similar.

I haven't started cutting timber yet so I'll run these figures over the rough plans I have made from the books.

Thanks again.... See Craig, it was worth dredging up an old post.

PS. Just had a look at the Table Plans link on that page, I have seen most of those plans already.
