Dovetail template
Hi there,
I may be selling these dovetail templates sometime just wondering if you would be interested in purchasing one.
The template is 350mm long and 95mm wide. It can be used the The jig can be used with the workpiece held in a bench vise and the jig is then clamped to the workpiece or it can be used inverted on the router table with the workpiece simply clamped to the waste block.
Would you buy one for $130 this includes the template the wood block and carbitool bits.
If you don't think could i have some feedback.
Thanks Ben

I would not buy one but then I already have a jig, and you would be competing with chinese complete set up for less expense. Personaly I think the chinese stuff is rubbish but some one out there is buying it

12mm black perspex so if you cut the jig with a bit you only have to replace the template and not the bits, unlike metal.

I just dropped one of my perspex dovetail fingers on the floor and it shattered
At $130 for the jig I think it would be cheaper to replace the bit.

Not a bad price if it cuts perfect joints. I already have a jig so wouldn't buy it myself but if I didn't have a jig I guess I would give it consideration but only because the bits come with it at the price.

AT $130 with the bits, this seems like very good value to me!
I like the fact that it can be used on a router table as I have the BIG heavy triton router which I find hard to control hand held!
I'd be interested.Cheers,
Steck

You'd be competing with this.
The only difference would be the timber block, which is actually worth making yourself to understand how to best adjust it. This one is also a known quantity, with plenty of support out there. Being made from aluminium is a good thing, it won't ruin your router bits if you nick it and is extremely durable.
I'm sorry to say that I believe the KL unit to be better value."Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so."

Would more people buy it if it was aluminum?
