Default Drill Press Addition - What is it?

Hi. I came across this on the Woodsmith website. Can anyone tell me what it is? It looks like it could be useful!

    Thanks in advance

It appears to be attached to the rod on the left side of the drill, so my guess is it's just a depth stop

Yeah. The cheaper Delta (and similar clone) pedestal drills have a cast clamp there, which vibrates loose under operation. Over time - and many re-tightenings - the thread tends to strip, rendering it useless.

Many a woody's workshop has a similar home-made replacement there.
I may be weird, but I'm saving up to become eccentric.

Thankyou. Makes sense. That's exactly what mine does!
