The evolution of template work
Just a peek at how technology has changed over the decades. There was a time when you'd have to mark out your rough stock from a pattern, bandsaw it a few mm oversize, then run it past the moulder with a bearing and template. Now we draw it in autocad, send it to the CNC over wifi, load a piece of timber and press the button.

The bearing on the slotted collar is also used with the other moulder heads for template work.
