Good news
I did get in contact with Bessey, and quickly received an email back from their head office in Germany, with a generous offer of two 300mm UniKlamps to replace the faulty ones I got from Amazon, and two professional K Body REVO clamps to discover them and see how they go. The clamps arrived within 48 hours from Germany via TNT. What an amazing company
Horses for courses, but the heavy and powerful K Body REVO clamps made the UniKlamps seem flimsy - they are awesome, and needless to say, the jaws were parallel. I will be using the K Body REVO clamps for most of my work in future
Thanks to the above contributors who encouraged me to go down this path.
It has been a long and ardous process, but I am very happy, no thanks to Amazon.
It has been a really good experience dealing with a company like Bessey who are prepared to stand by their product and ensure customer satisfaction. Most unusual in this day and ageregards,
Dengy

Well I don't like giving free promotion for a company but I was in Masters for their grand opening in Morayfield Qld and I was really surprised that they had a whole range of Bessy clamps. I'm happy. As Arnie says I'l be back.
SBPower corrupts, absolute power means we can run a hell of alot of power tools

Jill ..... how have you been hard done by Amazon? They are simply selling the product manufactured by Bessey. You notified them of a problem and they offered a replacement, also without having to send the faulty units back (my guess Amazon will be out of pocket as they cannot return the faulty unit to Bessey). I cannot see how they can do any more.
On the flip side Bessey, who manufacture the item and are technically at fault as they supplied a faulty product to Amazon, have also done the right thing and made good on your purchase.
From this side of the fence you have been looked after very well by both companies that you have dealt with. Now proudly sponsored by Binford Tools. Be sure to check out the Binford 6100 - available now at any good tool retailer.

I guess most people working for Amazon arer't woodworkers, and the person who received your complaint and the person who sent you the replacements probably aren't on the same floor. So you can really blame for not knowing what a good UniKlamp looks like.

Major, what price were the K-bodies please? I've looked for a Masters website but can't find one (don't know if they sell online either).

The 600mm Revo's were $58 something each.

Thanks for that. Carbatec has them for $79, so that's a good saving. At least they're no longer the usual double price in the USA. Justclamps (Peachtree) has them for $42.
