    Titebond I and Titebond II

But I think glues are generally pretty good these days. We are only talking about the difference between very good and very very good.

I have spoken to a large number of men who are in the senior citizen bracket and have an untold number of years experience in woodworking and not all of them are happy with the modern style of woodworking for one reason or another but EVERY single one of them agree that the modern glues that are available today are so superior to what used to be used that it is no contest at all.

When you think about the animal hide glues that had to be heated in a double boiler etc and compare them with the convenience and holding ability available now you sure can see why they ALL think that way.

PVA is great but my favourite at the moment is Titebond III which is sensational. I do admit that I haven't used the other Titebond glues but I'm sure that I will get around to it.............

I just use Selly's Aquadhere (usually the cross-linked PVA one called "Tradesman's Choice") from Bunnings. It's inexpensive, readily available since I almost live in Bunnings, and if a joint fails with Aquadhere you can guarantee it poor joinery not the glue's fault. Unless you had some specialist application why would you pay over twice as much for uppity brands like Titebond III?

For me mostly tradesman's choice aquadhere (now aquadhere exterior i think), although I have been trying the new aquadhere durabond.

It is supposed to be really good for exterior and wet areas.

Gotta admit, have some araldite in the shed too, Always comes in handy.
Have a nice day - Cheers

I use Anchor weld 3000. Its a cross-linked PVA water resistant glue & it's about $25 - $30 for 5lt's. I have not had a joint fail with this glue so far.

I looove Araldite, but lust for the 4litre tins of 2 pack epoxy. Nothing succeeds like excess

After seeing some of the work you have done first hand, I'd say that is a huuuge understatement.
