Morning all
Can anyone offer advice on spray foam insulation of my floor.I understand there are DIY options, but having it done by pro.might be a better way to go.

Don't forget that the foam can gas off for quite sometime, making some people quite sick.

What I have found so far is there are closed cell and open cell foam, the open cell is not a vapor barrier and gives off some gases that they say are OK,and used in wall and ceilings.
The closed cell is a vapor barrier and does not give off gases, one use of this one is for under floor,25MM is all that is required.
this is all I have found so far, would like to hear from anyone who has had this done .

Up date on my search
The DIY option comes in about $25 a square meter all up(chemicals safety gear extra spray nozzles). The issues I see are if I don't do it right that could blow out considerably.
The containers which hold the two part mix need to be kept at the correct temp.which may be difficult under the house.
Having it done by a Pro comes in way,way cheaper with none of the risks of me stuffing it up.
I am having a on site quote so will see how that goes.

Is there a specific reason you want under floor insulation (just curious)?

The house is in rural Vic that has a very high rainfall. we use it only part of the week, until the drought broke the ground under the house was reasonably dry but since we have had all the rain in the past couple of years we have dampness and the house becomes musty after being closed up.Closed cell foam will stop any dampness rising into the house we are told.
