How i wish I was on the road again. Few more hours yet. Back at Petersham with some work upstairs. Then off to see Christos to pick up a lathe for simplicity. ..... then ..... I can start the long trip home.

Ray ... I can even do some pics while it is being sanded. Below you should see one guy on the slide board with pinch in hand

And the other guy on the sander

You could cut the bottom strip off the underside of the groove in the last board. But before you install it you could glue a few cleats under the joint for some extra support. That way it has more support than all the other boards.

It's not long now you know !

This has been a fascinating thread. I didn't realise just how much was involved in fitting a floor. It's been educational as well.
If I ever need to replace a floor, I now have enough information on what to do i.e. leave the job to a professional.

Dave, this was a truly fantastic thread. I've learned a lot.

I'm still unsure how you fit some of those boards in without taking off either the tongue or groove. You must have some some sort of advanced magic! I'll need to start from the beginning and see where it's mentioned

    Thanks Evanism

Only the last two boards had any tongue removed

    Hi,
Hope you have a good anti-theft device fitted now that you have something worth nicking in your van.
