    Default google sketchup

    has anyone here used the google sketch-up to design woodworking stuff? Im a novice woodworker and my hand-drawing is rather appalling. google sketch-up is free to download ( takes a couple of mins to download on a half decent connection) and is really easy to use. you can give exact dimensions and see what the final product looks like. I'm attaching a drawing of a table and chairs that I'm in the process of making for my backyard (had to resize the pic 'coz it won't attach any pic files larger than 100kb!). hope this helps amateur woodworkers here. enjoy...

    Hi Halludba, there are a few of us who use Sketchup, it even has it's own section....

    I find it very usefull, especialy on the more complex projects, where you can fully resolve your design before cutting the first piece of timber.

    There is a website called Sketchup for Woodworkers. It has some good tutorials for download to help you use Sketchup for our kind of project!
