Thread: Making a guitar case

Is the case going to be rectangular or contoured to match the shape of the guitar, how thick, is it a solid body or acoustic.
Lining can be a high density foam cut to shape and cover with velvet or a flock finish directly applied to the foam, probably the more expensive option.
Do you want a timber finish on the case or are you going to cover it with another material.
Don't forget decent catches and balancing the handle and room for accessories.
Plywood is fine but 3mm MDF would probably work as well because the foam would add some rigidity and offer additional protection.

It'll be rectangular in shape because i could make room for accsessories and its a solid body btw. I quite like the look of some aluminium cases so i might get some aluminium sheets to put onto it.
