    Smile Half Barrels Wanted

Hey, guys........unlike you lot, I'm totally useless when it comes to any form of construction. Yup........even my marriage fell apart. lol

I'm in Perth and chasing some half-barrels for the garden. I guess I could always buy a full one from a winery, drink it.......but ya see, I then have to cut it in half. Not a good idea..........cos I did my tendons once, just taking a cutting of a plant.

    Gordy,

I saw some at local Stratco; you may want to check your local. Cost around $20 (I think).

    Welcome to the forum.

Most nurseries that are nearby to wineries have them readily available as the barrels have a definite number times they can be used dependant on what wine was stored in them. The nuseries generally have already chopped them in half for you - of course you pay a bit of a premium too!

    Cheers

As Zed says the barrels have a finite life. You can often find them on sale at the cellar door of wineries. I had cause to be in Griffith a few months ago and they have a few at the DeBortoli cellar door sales area
