More Happy Mistakes
Re-working some more challenges into something new. It's kind of fun to come back to something that didn't quite work out with a fresh new idea.

A good answer to the problem. In a way that is what woodworking is all about and why I like it. Gets the grey cells working. Just love that moment when the idea pops.

Great stuff.
Loved the cordless sander. My father introduced me to them when I was kid, but I had forgotten. Thanks for the reminder.

It's so simple, but so powerful...when you adhere sandpaper to a hard surface it really becomes a fine tool. I like to use the piece of glass a lot. I also have a small set of 1/4 inch hardboard strips (about 15 inches long, 1 inch wide) with various grits adhered. Really nice for working on larger pieces or hard to reach spots that won't work with the sheet of glass.

Hey Pete, enjoyed reading your blog posts, the satisfaction that comes from solving problems is incredibly rewarding.
Just curious, how do stick the sandpaper to the glass? First thought was double sided tape but even the really thin stuff would leave a raised edge that might catch. Perhaps if it was only 2 strips left & right which you avoid by sticking to the middle of the sheet? Thanks in advance, will keep an eye on the blog.Michael

Michael,
I use 3M's Super 77 adhesive spray. Just a light coating on the back of the sandpaper, wait about 20-30 seconds and then stick it to the glass. When the paper is done it should peel right off, like a really strong sticky note. I usually need a little shot of WD-40 on the glass to clean off any residue, but it's a quick clean-up.
