help bowed timber
Hi encountered a problem at work today which i have not come acroos before ( im in my third year of my joinery apprenticeship). today i machined some tulip wood (poplar) and when i faced and edged the timber over the plane and then thicknessed it, every piece (16 lengths) had bowed but not on the face side of the timber. I know sometimes the tension in the timber will cause it to bow straight after machining but this has always seemed to bow the way it was when i first faced the timber over the planner.
any help would be kindly appreciated maybe it is something im doing wrong when i face and edge the timber but i have not had and problems before. the timber finished at 60mm wide and 25mm thick
thanks
matt

I am not sure I follow your description but sounds like your outfeed table is set too low and you are creating a "Bannana"of one edge on your timber.
