When you press down on the turret release Lever, it pulls a rod back out of the preset slots. That rod, from what I heard, can be adjusted slightly from side to side at the inner most bracket. This means the turret will be at a slightly different position, when the lever is released and the rod locked into the preset slot.
    Clear as mud??

I recall a blade alignment add-on I was researching for the dewalt dw735.

    Barry
I thought you had a DeWalt jobsite saw with the motor located under the table top.
not a contractors' saw where the motor hangs out the back

There is a comment about making sure you have the belt on when adjusting the PALS.

Will have another go this morning using the dial indicator.

As seen in vids I can attach the dial indicator to my Incra v120.

Model number fixed in previous post.

    PALS research dropped.
    Grudgingly ($20 USD fix)

Used the blade and two different pieces of timber. one softwood and one hardwood.

Using the dial gauge on the Incra v120 I get .04 to .07mm difference.

    1 thou = .0254mm
    5 thou = .127mm

    .04mm = 1.57480 thou
    .07mm = 2.75591 thou

Thats well within the "5 thou is good" margin when discussing the 5 cut method.

Should I try to get more accurate cuts if I'm looking to get 8 perfect mitre cuts to make a simple square frame?

Again, I ask myself, am I expecting too much from my job site saw?

The space between each of those marks is 1/100th of a mm.

    Blade Flex
    Arbor Flex
    Motor Housing Flex

During blade alignment I found one of the expansion discs on the Incra v120 needed adjusting.
#3 out of the 4. As soon and 4 would clear the track the v120 runner was loose.
Almost impossible to turn the screws.
Over tightened and couldn't get screw to to reverse.
Soft sanding a few time to get it right.
Won't be able to adjust again.

Wixey Digital Bevel Box Angle Gauge to set blade to 90°.
Intentionally moved it way off back and forth.
    Then set to 90°

    Digital Angle Gauge
    to exactly 45°
Set Incra v120 using the digital angle gauge.
Incra still not exactly 45°. Gotta figure out how to aline it.
Checked with the MitreSet. Spot on.
Checked against the blade. spot on.

    8 cuts.
Still out a bit more than I want.

Ran each cut thru again back and forth 4 times each.
    No other adjustments.

I doubt my ability to reproduce this result.

The two screws that hold the fence to the quadrant are the means to adjust.

Set the V120 to 0°, loosen the screws and push it into your Mitreset at 90°, tighten screws.

V120 should now be adjusted for 45°, if not return it to supplier as faulty. (Or you can calibrate it at 45° and have it out at 0°)

I've found the 4 segment setting on the Segment MitreSet gives better results than the 45° setting on the Standard MiterSet.

My blades soaked in citrus hand wash and water for an hour.
    Then scrubbed clean.
Then each tooth scraped with blade knife.
