    Default Help - wobbly board

    Hi everyone,

I made a really nice looking cheese board, sanded and oiled it. I am about to add handles to it also.
However I have only just discovered (!!!) that the board is wobbly not totally flat

I'm thinking that hopefully I can find some discreet looking feet that I can attach to it, and cut one a little shorter than the others.
I know I could make these out of a contrasting timber and attach with glue. It might come to that. But wondering if there is a simpler solution?

    Thanks,
    Simon.

Not enough thickness to flatten the board?
I may be weird, but I'm saving up to become eccentric.

Unfortunately not. And I'm in a rush to get it finished so can't afford the time to plane it flat and start again. I was hoping there might be some self-adhesive rubber feet that I could attach but just shorten one of them

    Did you oil both sides?

As this is a cheese board it is best to have it sit flat. I am thinking on the lines of attaching feet and using a flat surface with sand paper sand until all four feet are flat.

Depending on how much of a wobble are we talking about? It just might be better to flatten with a plane.

Not very helpful as I have given you two opposite suggestions.

I would go for feet if the board is on the thin side for more planeing. Also if it is a wood movement issue then the feet can be adjusted a number of times if required. I would use wood set into a recess and glued in with epoxy. The recess/mortices can be done with a forstener bit. Trying to trim rubber feet will be a bit of a fiddle and screws may rust in future.
    Regards
    John
