    Default Huge office table

    Greetings gentlemen

Recently been asked to make a very big office table (3100 x 900). I've purchased recycled iron bark boards 120x45 DAR and my aim is to biscuit join them with plently off pva glue and clamp.....will this do or is there a better method.

    Thanks

Tat will stick them together, but you will probably need to think through to e joinery for the legs and frame pretty carefully as that will weigh and absolute tonne. 45mm iron bark in tht size would need a hoist to move I expect.

How are you going to get it into the office and out of your workshop? Could you build it in segments? At least 2, maybe 3?

Make sure you wear a truss, I agree this will be heavy

The top alone is going to be about 140kg. May be best to get the Mrs to take one end

In my company we had a board table of similar size, came from Aust wool corp. it was built in two sections and joined with simple heavy duty steel plates underneath. So a two part job has good precedent.

I'd be going for a polyurethane glue over PVA
