Huon pine stump
Hi,
This is my first post as I am very new to woodworking.
I received a gift from my wife's grandparents of a magnificent huon pine stump (please see photo) which had been outside for a number of decades. Given the nooks and crannies within the stump, hand sanding would be very difficult if not impossible.
I am seeking some advise as to how to restore the stump to its natural colour.
One person has suggested I sandblast the stump but I am not sure if Huon pine is too soft for this.
Any advise would be very much appreciated.

I suggest HIGH PRESSURE Water (eg from a Kartcher etc) to remove sand, stones, included bark etc first.
Once clean and dry, you can consider the tools you may need, once you know what you want to do with it. (slice, carve, trim etc).
Maybe speak to woodworkers or get advice from members here.

I think you have to have a certain number of posts before you can post photos.
Euge's suggestion of high pressure water blasting is probably the best suggestion around. You'll need to do that before you use any tools on it anyway, and you may not need to use any tools - it depends on what you want to do.

Water blast not sand. You will fill all the cracks in the timber. Water will evaporate but the sand will not.
