Any ideas what this is?
Hi everyone
I was wondering is anyone could tell me what this object is in the photo. Only one picture sorry. The brass plates are a little loose and actually feel as if they are sprung in place. It was in a high school workshop.
Any ideas?

Perhaps something to do with book binding? Just a stab in the dark.

A WAG on my part.
It looks like a jig to hold square, four edge, thicknesser knives for sharpening. But more pictures would definitely help.
